  • Claire Walsh... is the drummer for the San Francisco two-piece band Fighter D, an all-female, indie, pop-rock explosion, as well as a guitarist for the band The Little Deaths.

  • Robin Ward... is from Bakersfield, CA and she drums for a Christian band called Asphalt Lollipops. Robin is 17 and she says, "I love to play the drums and hope to keep on getting better."

  • Lisa Warda... plays drums and is the lead vocalist for September, a NJ/PA original all-girl rock trio.

  • Kim Ware-Mathews... is in Wilmington, North Carolina's Pacer. They play a unique blend of melodic power pop, psychedelia with just a hint of old-school punk. Kim is also the editor of Cape Fear Live, an online guide to the Cape Fear (N. Carolina) region, which is full of some of the nicest people on the East Coast.   • Janice Warkoski is the drummer for echo JANES, a Connecticut based all female rock band.

  • Arielle Warren... from Oakville, Ontario is 10 years old and in grade 4. She has already been drumming for 2 years and just started playing in a band. Recently, she played her very first live show, supporting a band, for a jam-packed show at 1am on a school night. Rock on!

  • Shaina Watson... is a really young drummer who has friends who are supportive of her playing. Shaina started out playing in her school band and decided that she loved it so much that should bought a drum kit and started her own band called Pinnacle. They play mainly rock, alternative, and Christian music.

  • Caroline Weage... toured the US in the 40s with the Swingettes, an all-girl swing band! Now she resides in Plymouth, Michigan where she plays in the jazz group Mello-Aires.

  • Tara Webster... has been playing drums for two years, mainly with cd's and the radio. Email.

  • Laura Weinberger (aka Laura B)... Laura Weinberger (AKA Laura B) is 13 years old (born 1988), born in NYC, the daughter of professional musicians. Studied with Tony Monforte while her family was based in Binghamton; played on a CD with her father's band, UnityGroup, when she was 10. Has played in concert on drumset, played djembe, set, and conga with various adult church groups. She is comfortable with jazz and Latin, but really wails on rock, R & B, and funk. Pro musicians have often said it best: "She's HOW OLD??!!" This Lil Drummergirl is now based in Buffalo, NY, with her mom and stepfather. Her drumset is in the living room, next to the piano, where she and her mom jam daily. Laura B is looking forward to starting her own band soon.

  • Sydney Weiss... is almost 17, but has been playing percussion since the age of 6. She currently plays with the all-girl, north Jersey based rock band, Small City Groove.

  • Kristina West...is 14 and has been playing drums for 4 years. She plays kit in her high school band and beat the other boy drummers to get there. She has also won various competitions and will continue with her drumming at summer Drum Corps and band camp. email


  • Megan West... is the little drummer "girl" who plays with her swingin' big band. They have a new cd that is currently getting national airplay. Megan plays a vintage set of 1940s Slingerland adio Kings (ala Gene Krupa and Buddy Rich). Check out her site.

  • Liv-Tone Ruud Wethal... is only fifteen years old and she plays with the Olso, Norway-based band Fluffy Flowers.

  • Meg White... has her own simple, distinctive style. Meg plays drums in the world-famous Detroit garage/rock duo the White Stripes with her brother Jack.

  • Jennifer Whitecotton and Rachel Wilson... are in the Northglenn High School Marching Band in Colorado.

  • Domi Whittaker... is a 17 year-old drummer from Wellington, New Zealand. She has been playing since she was 8, and been involved in bands since she was 9. Domi plays anything and everything - she also does ballet, horse riding, and go-karting.

  • Kristen Wiggins... has been playing drums for about three years and loves it. She switched to percussion after three years of playing clarinet. She is the drummer for her church youth group and currently plays in the Summerville High School Winter Drumline. She will be trying out for the bass line for the 2005 marching season.

  • Mies Wilbrink... is part of the Netherland super-group, Van Kampen. Why is it super? Because it is all percussionists!

  • Staci Wilhelm... played 1st bass drum for four years at Liberty High in Clarksburg, WV. They were a successful drumline, winning the Fiestaval in Virginia and playing at Epcot in Florida. Staci is now studying at WVU and hopes to join the drumline there.

  • Joselyn Wilkinson... and five other awesome female drummers/vocalists make up the world music group ADAAWE.

  • Genevieve Williams... has been playing in the Seattle-based Murder of Crows, which offers an "eclectic blend of gothic and heavy alternative music." In addition to rock bands, Genevieve has also played in jazz groups and amateur orchestras.

  • Lindsay Williams... has been playing for 3 years, having discovered the drums late. She's been in several London, UK, punk and metal bands, notably The Dakinis, and is now playing with Doom.

  • Kelly Jo Wilson... is captain of her high school drumline.

  • Lauren Wilson... is the beat behind the aggressive but melodic music of For Green Walls.

  • Rachel Wilson... hails from Lafayette, LA and has been drumming for 25 years. She began hitting the skins when she was 8 by drumming along to records. Rachel presently splits her playing time between Cajun band Tee Rouge, which includes an up and coming 19 year old accordian player who eventually wants to get into the studio, and her own band, The Wandering Cajuns. Rachel has played with accordian greats such as Jimmy Breaux (Beausoille) and Kevin Naquin and now tries to juggle being a wife, mother and musician. Email.

  • Lauryn Wohlers... plays mallets, concert snare, marching snare, timpani, trap set, piano, accoustic guitar and bass guitar. Lauryn doesn't have a band right now but when she does form one, she already had a couple of names in mind. Email.

  • Lorie Wolf... drums for the Jonnie Bakan Path Band and for Yenevelt, a Klezmer-funk band, in Toronto.

  • Courtney Wolfe... is best known as the drummer and backing vocalist for Tough Love and Romantic Fever, two all-female rock bands from the Chicago area. She was voted Chicago's favorite drummer two years in a row in the Chicago Rocker awards.   • Melanie Woods... is 32 years old, plays drums currently for Tetra, previously Sidi bou Said and lives in London.
