began her drumming career at the age of 8 when her older brother brought
home a pair of drumsticks. She regularly stole them out of his room until
he finally gave them to her. She used them to beat on everything she could
find every waking moment. A year later she got her first real drum when
her mom brought one home to save the furniture. By sixth grade she was
a regular in school bands and at 15 was one of the youngest member of
the Georgia State Band, the Spirit of Atlanta Drum & Bugle Corp. She
continued playing drums throughout her high school years and then started
in garage bands after graduation.
Eventually her other talents took her away from drumming as she pursued
a motorcycle racing career, wowed the off road community with her T-shirt
illustrations and published her own coloring books. She also managed to
settle down and start a family in the midst of all this excitement. In
recent years Becky's first love of drumming has returned with a passion
and she has played for bands all around the county, including Big
Rig Deluxe, the Stiletto's, Chill Boy and the Thunderbirds, Bonneville
7 and Guana Batz when they've been in town from Europe. Also sub for the
Rancho Bernardo Community Presbyterian Church. Becky lists as her musical
influences Keith Moon and Ringo Starr. Drumming may be her first love,
but she still finds time to ride her motorcycle with her husband and kids.
