  • Taylor H... is 13 and has been drumming since 6th grade. She plays a wide range of instruments including drumset, finger cymbals, timpani and quints. Taylor is not is a band but wants one. She has been 1st chair all of 7th grade year and most of 6th. She got a first place rating in district and was in All-City Band.

  • Kjrsten Haaland... has been drumming for ten years and is currently playing with Drip Joy, an all-girl rock band with Christa Hillhouse (formerly with 4-Non-Blondes) on bass and Sandice Alaska on guitar and vocals. Kjrsten also plays for Secadora, currently number 101 on the cmj charts (July 2001) and Shawna Virago and the Deadly Nightshade Family, gigging in San Francisco and playing the women's music festival in Northern CA this year.   • Edith Habraken... specializes in percussion for children, and runs a percussion and drum school out of Riehen, Amsterdam. She has also played with several orchestras and has appeared with Basler Carneval.

  • Sue Hadjopoulos... has recorded and toured with Ricky Lee Jones, Joe Jackson, Cyndi Lauper, Laurie Anderson, They Might Be Giants, and countless others.   • Kate Haefele... plays with Taw Shabella in Berkeley, California.

  • Nancy Hale... is 15 years old and she has been playing drums/percussion since she was 11. In spite of what her peers thought about learning such a loud instrument compared with the flutes and clarinets they were playing, Nancy is dedicated to improving her drumming, even taking lessons to play pipe snare for her local pipe and drum corps.   • Haley... is currently in her highschool varsity drummline. She has been a drummer for almost four years. Haley is in the pit now playing zylophone and bells, which is fun. She loves being a drummer!

  • Debbie Haliday... was the founding drummer of Lucid Nation. Her epic songs "The Sun Doesn't Rise in the Slaughterhouse" and "Penetration" are still played on college radio, long after Lucid Nation's The Stillness of Over reached CMJ #8 most played in December 1997.

  • Kelly Hall... played with Altlanta band Man's Ruin. Check GMM Records for the band's album.

  • Layla Hall... percussionist/back-up vocalist for Sista Otis and the Wholly Rollers. One of the top acts out of Detroit, they were nominated for a record-breaking 16 music awards for 2004, becoming the highest nominated band in the awards' history, including a nomination for Layla Hall for outstanding acoustic instrumentalist for percussion.

  • Elizabeth Hammond... aka "The Hammer" drums for an all-girl three piece band from Chapel Hill, NC called The Pink Slips. Her style is not quite as hard as Dave Grohl, but not quite as simple as Meg White.

  • Henriett Hammond... plays in a Christian Rock Band in South Africa. email

  • Cathy Harabaras... is 31 years old and plays drums in a band called Savile Row. She lives in London, very near Melanie Woods who is also on this list!

  • Kim Hardison... is 18 years old and has been drumming for 5 years. She also plays piano, guitar, bass, and cello. She is in the process of starting an acoustic/alternative rock band with fellow college musicians. Kim released an indie CD her band Boraghie but they have since split up. Email.

  • Gail Hargraves, a.k.a. Gailforce... This drummer has her own show, Megaherz, on the airwaves of Brisbane, Australia.

  • Anne Harkin... is an Australian hand drummer specializing in West African, Middle Eastern, and Balkan music. She has a website that you can check out.

  • Wave Harless... is from Pipe Creek, Texas, about 6 miles from Bandera, Texas - cowboy capital of the world, but there are plenty of cowgoils as well. Wave has a percussion ensemble group with four other women. Email.

  • Leesa Harrington-Squyres... of Jimmy's Pawn Shop has been voted Best Drummer in Houston for the past six years.

  • Mary Harris... was the former vocalist for Spearhead in the early 90's and is currently working on her own projects in NYC. She also was the house drummer for many of Philly's finest hip-hop projects, including The Fugees.

  • Bernadette Heald... is an Australian percussionist specializing in West African, Middle Eastern, and Latin music. Check out her website.

  • Nicole Melody Harrington... hails from Oakland, California and presently drums with Honeyshot. She also has her own great site. Email.

  • Elaine Harris... was the drummer for Minnesota's Trip Shakespeare. Rumor has it she stands at her kit and plays all of her drums with her hands.

  • Graham Harris-Curry... is one half of the duo that is Red Star Belgrade.

  • Stacia Hassett... is a 20 year old from Rochester, NY. She is a Junior at SUNY Fredonia studying Sound Recording Technology. Stacia has studied with Kristen Shiner McGuire and Dr. Kay Stonefelt and she recently played on local recording artist, Annika Bentley's, latest album. She is in an indie rock band called The Minstrels.

  • Rose van der Haven... Is a drummer from The Netherlands. She is currently playing with a nederpop band: Het Vervolg. You can also check out her home page for more drum information.

  • Linda Hawkinson... started drumming October of 2002. She plays every Sunday at Lakeside Presbyterian Church in Tarpon Springs, Florida. They needed a drummer, no one volunteered, so Linda did. Most of the music is hard-core contemporary rock Christian music. The best part is that Linda was 51 years old when she began playing--proof positive that it’s never too late for us girls to achieve our goals…never…BRING IT ON!!!!!

  • Alycin Hayes... was raised in a theatrical family in Stratford, Ontario, Canada. She has spent most of her life traveling around the world learning to play unusual percussion instruments. Some of the instruments that Alycin plays for the London, Ontario band, “Anima Munidi,” include Brazilian
    berimbau and shakeree, Gambian djimbe drum, Fijian log drum, Cuban bongos and Canadian wooden spoons. Alycin has also played in Gainesville, Florida with the African drumming band

  • Laura Hiles... is 15 years old and began learning the drums recently. She has potential, but because she has played flute for 5 years and she's a girl, no one (even her band directors) seem to have much confidence in her. She wants to join the Cheboygan High School Jazz Band, but most of all, she wants to prove to all those people in her band that laugh at her, that she is a kick-butt drummer and you don't need to be a guy to play well!

  • Shannon Hinkle... currently plays with By Day and formerly played with the rock band Jackson Swing. Shannon plays drums, percussion, guitar, sings and writes her own songs. She completed a Bachelor of Music in Percussion Performance.

  • Jodi Hockley... lives and plays in New Jersey Channel Islands with original band Ali's Garden and Leash, a rock cover band. She is 20 years old and plays on a Pearl kit.

  • Mary Ellen Hodges... is from Mount Vernon, WA (near Seattle) and is a well rounded percussionist skilled in concert percussion, marching percussion, drumset, and hand drumming. She is a public school music educator and currently performs with the North Cascades Concert Band, the Stary Night Chamber Orchestra, Mount Vernon Nazarene Worship Team, and various musical theaters. She has recently been hired / performed with the Skagit Valley Symphony, Puget Sound Symphony Orchestra, Northwest Mahler Festival Orchestra, and East Valley Musical Theater. Mary Ellen also teaches private percussion lessons, and is the Drumline Instructor for Mount Vernon and Burlington-Edison High Schools.

  • Niwana Hoffman... believes that it is nice to have a support group in the sometimes prejudiced music bussiness. She is a 44 year old female drummer and mom of three grown children, one who is a drummer also! Niwana can't believe she blessed to still be playing out at her age. She sings and plays, which is even more fun. Niwana believes that drumming is a wonderful life-long journey filled with learning, acheiving, and musical friends and you're never too old to start, or keep playing.

  • Suzy Homewrecker... former drummer of Snap-Her and Total Chaos. Suzy played in Total Chaos for two years and also played on the Anthem albumn from the Alleyways.

  • Hope... is a percussionist at Rusk Junior High and she will be going into 7th grade band next year. Although last year was Hope's first year of playing and some of the guys tease her and tell her that girls shouldn't play drums, she played 1st chair all year long and is the best drummer in her class.   • Lauren Horbal... is in her 8th year of drumming. Her drum teacher's drum teacher played on one of Avril Lavigne's songs and her drum teacher is part of the Christina Abbott band. Lauren is in a band called Wicked Booty and is in Concert and Jazz band. She admires such groups as Good Charlotte and Maroon 5.

  • Melissa Hosler... plays in an Austrian band called Bitter Orange.

  • Kelley Marie Houpt... Kelley Marie Houpt played snare drum in the Concord Blue Devils drum and bugle corps in the early eighties. She is currently playing snare for the S.F. Renegades (CA), an awesome sr. corps in the bay area, and has played set for her church through the years. She started drumming at age 11 and was hooked…she put down the sticks for quite some time and realized how much drumming was still in her heart and she now has little interest in anything else (well, except for the dog and the boyfriend)! 32nd note paradiddles and flamdrags are her faves!

  • Janet Housden... This L.A.-based drummer has played with Redd Kross, The Lovedolls and the Supercools.

  • Melissa Houston... is a New York City based drummer who plays with power trio Eureka! and singer/songwriter Heather Shayne Blakeslee. She works as a dance accompanist for companies including Artichoke Dance, Keila Cordova Dances, Wanted X-Cheerleaders, and Arthur Aviles' Typical Theatre.   • Petra Hruzova... lives and drums in Caslav in the Czech Republic. The name of her band is Mala Vystrednost, which means "small eccentricity."

  • Missy Hui... has been playing drums for 6 years. Her former bands include the ska band "The Wisties" and the jazz combo "Bif, Spanky and the PBJ's." These days her drumming focusses largely on jazz, latin and afro-cuban rhythms so if you have any really good charts, send them her way. Email.
