at age 10, and joined the high school marching band at 14 to be with her
first boyfriend, a trumpet player. Playing cymbals, Lori grew interested
in the snare drum, and worked to make the line for the following year.
Her "Women don't play drums" boyfriend was soon history, and
Lori achieved a spot in the high school snare line. She later won acceptance
into the highly-competitive and nationally-recognized West Virginia University
Drumline, and also became involved in the percussion ensemble and took
lessons on marimba. She performed in the Departmental for the Percussion
Dept., the Head of which told her she (a violin major) was good enough
to have been a percussion major!
After college, Lori joined a community-based concert band at Rutgers University,

drum set with her church's "Praise Band" at Contemporary worship
services, and is a snare drummer with the Drum Line of a local Drum &

Maybe in a year or so she'll form a band. We'll be on the lookout.
