Amanda D... plays head snare in her
high school marching unit, has been the principal percussionist in many
honor groups in her school district, sings in her school's advanced choir
and the all-district honor choir and is currently adding to her collection
of various percussion instruments at home. Amanda is not presently in
a band of her own. She says, "My first year of high school on drumline
was pretty tough. I had to go through some pretty rough things, and I
was the only girl. I tried out for drum captain but I did not make it.
This year we have two girls and things are better than last year. Next
year I am hoping to make drum captain and asst. drum major of my school's
marching unit."
Joanna Dabrowska...
is only in her teens, but she has already been playing
for six years. She drums for the band Princess-What's-Her-Name.
Anita da C'hi...
is a percussion player living in Amsterdam, The
Netherlands. She has played with The Drifters, Nasty Girls, da
Gaia and Too Hot to Handle and she presently drums for SUPER-Q.

Sofia Dahl...
lives in Stockholm, Sweden and has played the drums since 1986. Her
experience includes both military parading and big-band jazz, but she
is most comfortable with smaller rock bands and prefers to play a heavier
style of drums. In addition to playing the drums she is also a researcher
with an interest in the movement of drummers and interactions they have

Kristina Damisch...
has played piano since the age of four. In 7th grade she found her passion
when she started percussion. She became section leader of the top school
concert band in 8th grade and also played in jazz band and choir. She
was nominated for the National School Choral Award by her Honor Choir
of about 80 people, and won the award in May 2001. Kristina has toured
Europe during the summers playing piano concerts for charities with her
family. In high school, she participated in symphony orchestra, concert
bands, pep band, choir, and marching band. She plays mallets for a so
far undefeated WGI World Champion winter
guard/drumline called L.E.A.P.

Danielle Daniel... plays with a punk
rock band called The
Tricks.
Janet Daniel... headed straight for the drum set at age nine
instead of becoming a clarinet player like her mother envisioned. It
was a choice that gave her a chance to perform in 32 US states (and
counting), Switzerland, Italy and Portugal. Janet began her professional
career at seventeen. Her resume's wide range includes various top-40
dance bands, freelancing in jazz, country, R & B, and rock bands.
To see the world she also worked on Premier and Carnival Cruise Lines.
While living in Atlanta, GA, Janet recorded 2 CDs with Mudcat, a band
which toured with the "Winston Blues Revival" in 1998-99.
Janet backed many artists while working with the "Music Maker Relief
Foundation" in 1999. Among others Janet performed with Taj Mahal,
Pinetop Perkins, Tinsley Ellis and Sean Costello. Her opening credits
include Buckwheat Zydeco, The Georgia Satellites, Evanescence, Little
Feat and Miki Howard. Janet's solid blues and funk grooves throw some
serious Southern cooking into Sistah
Blue's musical pot.

Dauwalder-Dachtyl... drums and plays the HammondB3/synth

Christy Davis... has played
for Rebecca Moore, Blue Kangaroo, Rat Wakes Red and Mold.
Jill Davis... is a percussionist
from Anacortes, Wa. She plays in the Skagit Symphony, the North Cascades
Concert Band, and the Skagit Valley College Community Band. She maintains
a private teaching studio for percussion and piano and currently has 22
students. She has been playing drums for fifty-five years, no kidding!
She started in seventh grade. So let's hear it for drumming keeping a

Kimberly de Caires...
currently plays for Keepers of the Golden Heart, a pop, rock, jazzy type
of fusion band in North Carolina. Kimberly plays congas and multi-percussion
including bells, shakers, chekere and other hand instruments. Rencently
she has played in bands including Rebecca's Statue, Joygirl, Butterfly
McQueen, Malukosamba, Loco Amor. Kimberly is recording with Keepers of
the Golden Heart and at the same time studying kit and marimba. She has

Delaney... is a Boston-based drummer who
has played with the late "Alabama" Frank
O'Brien, Silas Jr. and the Hot Ribs, the Stalagmites
and the Nanette Perrotte Jazz Combo.
She currently is playing for Bird Mancini
and around Mardi Gras time she can be seen with the second-line outfit,
A Confederacy of Dumpsters.
Samantha
Delio... is 8 yrs old and in the 3rd grade. Samantha just competed
in the Reflections program with a drum solo against 4th and
5th graders. Samantha has had no formal training other then from her father,
Joseph Delio, of Jacobs Ladder and she won first place. She
has amazing talent and Samantha will now move on to compete against other
schools in the state. Samantha is just beginning to learn that there are
so many wonderful female drummers out there and her name belongs on the
list of them.
Gina De Luca... drums
in the Collingswood High School Marching Band as well as an independent
drumline called Eagle Percussion.
Nancy DeMars... formerly
known as "Stix" is picking up the sticks again at 37 and playing in a
Christian Worship Band "Inside-Out" at Christian Heritage College.
Briana Demise... is
a 14 year old drummer straight from Mississagua, Ontario who is currently
involved in three bands; DEMISE, which is not well known and two just
starting out with names still undetermined. One is an all-girl band and
in the other two Briana is the only girl. She is awesome at what she does!
Joanne DeSarbo... keeps
the beat for C.Jane Run, whose music is "intelligent and appealing."
Palmyra Delran ... formerly of Pink Slip Daddy and Das Yahoos,
she now drums for Booty Olympics and sings and plays guitar for The Friggs.

Destroy... has been working the drums for the Lunachicks
since October '99.
Wendy
de Vreede... is playing in a nameless band in Holland and in a
band called Harmonie. She's 15 years young and has a Remo PTS and Zildjian
things.
Sara "Tito" DeVuyst... plays in a punk band
called Ebonix. Sara, who also known as Binky, is only 15 and
she's already rocking the drumset!
Taylor DeWit... is a 20 year old beat keeper
who hails from the sunny Okanagan Valley. She is currently rockin' the
house with the all-girl, 80's cover band TAJA RAIN.

Ola Dixon... has had a career that has spanned
over three decades! She has played with everyone from Luther Guitar
Johnson Jr. to Jimmy Rogers to Big Walter Horton.
Sarah Dobson... has been drumming since the
age of 15 [born 1982]. Originally she was influenced by Hanson, but
now draws influences from many metal, rock and punk bands. Sarah has
played in a range of bands from jazz to rock, goth to punk. Based in
Kingston-Upon-Thames, England, Sarah has drummed for many bands, including
Jill Deletes The Stars, Skorch, The Jilts and Teenage Mothers, to name
a few. Currently playing in two bands, Lucid
['sassy girl' goth rock] and 11th Hour [NOFX-style punk], Sarah spends
most of her time behind the kit and is working hard at pursuing playing

Beth
Dodson... has been drumming since she was 14 years
old. Currently she plays in a jazz combo group and is the founder and
director of a percussion ensemble for which she also composes music.
Out of all the percussion instruments, timpani is her favorite, but
she works on improving her mallet, battery, drum set, and snare skills
to be considered an all-around percussionist. She is pursuing music
therapy where one day she hopes to use percussion to communicate with
and improve the lives of patients.

trio Betty Beats Veronica in Sudbury Ontario, Canada.
Meghan
Dolan... has been playing a 13 piece TAMA set now for one year.
She is taking lessons from Drew Conners in Naples, FL. Meghan plays
in a church 3-piece ensemble every Sunday. Her favorite performers are
Dave Weckl, Maroon 5, Natural, and One year later. Her dad is a drummer
of 40 years and plays Tull, as well as lots of 70's 80's and modern music.
Agnes Dombi... keeps the beat for alternative
progressive band Dither.
Jeane
Doo... is 22 years old and lives in Teresina - Piauí - Brazil.
Jeane drums for Black Sabbath female cover band Evil
Woman. She says that it is difficult to find other female musicians
to make a band and she'd like to meet other female drummers and instrumentalists.

in her teens, but she's already played in several Illinois bands including
The Flaming Marshmallows, Aerospace, The Pink Parasites and Summer66.

Rosalind Dougall... is 17 years old from
Malta, Europe. She has been in two bands - one called Trojan and the other
without a name. She is currently looking for a good drumming instructor
in order to improve her drumming, so as to be able to form her own band,
ideally an all-girl gothic metal band, with the exception of the 2nd vocalist

Dawn Drake... is a
percussionist and electric bass player. She plays with several bands
in the NYC area including Páprika, The Femm Nameless, Addictive
Mama, Obini Ashé and Cambio Libre. Dawn plays mostly Afro-Cuban
style congas, bongó, and bàtá, as well as Brazilian

Katie Dryburgh... is still in her teens, but she is currently touring the UK
with Corrs tribute band The Korrs. She seeks any exciting experiences
and projects and says that the drums
are the be all and end all of her world. Katie's mum is a musician who

has been playing the drums for a while but she's

Michelle Duckett... is
one of Vancouver B.C.'s "best-kept secrets" who played formerly for Sortapop.
Michelle is now working on a website for her own which will include some
funky 3D live animation as well as some other special effects.

Emily Dugas... plays
percussion and sings with Clandestine.
Clandestine evolved out of a pipe and drum ensemble founded in 1991 in
Houston, Texas. Highland pipes, fiddle, acoustic guitar, hand percussion,
and vocal harmonies combine to create a sound that brings the brilliance
of Celtic culture alive for the aficionado and the curious. Clandestine
is a high energy band with a diverse repertoire which is firmly rooted
in the Celtic tradition. Emily
Dugas joined Clandestine in 1996, and her talents in percussion
and vocals are adding depth and richness to the band. She's funny, too.
Rosalind Duignan-Pearson...
is 14 years old and hails from Newport (Shropshire)
in England. She drums in a band called The
Easy Queens, a melodic rock/punk band with an established fanbase.
Rosalind also plays with friends in a ska punk band called Misprint.
Heather Dunn... has
graced the world with some of the sweetest indie pop known to woman as
part of both Tiger Trap
and Lois. Tiger Trap is
defunct, but thank God Lois isn't.
