Drum Solo by Brad Schlueter
This is a short drum solo that is based on a common pattern familiar to most
drummers. The first line has a RLRL sticking up until the paradiddle at the
end of the line that reverses the sticking and melody in the second line. The
second line has a LRLR sticking up until the paradiddle at the end of that line
that reverses the sticking and melody again. This isn't particularly hard to
play, but it's a fresh approach to an old idea, and makes for a good warmup
as well as a fun drum set solo. I've included a version specifically for drummers
with four piece kits, and another for drummers with five piece kits. It can
be a useful for drum teachers wishing to increase their students ability to
lead with either hand and improve their mobility around the kit.
